A Lazy Thursday

Good afternoon everyone! I hope your week has been a good one thus far. We have almost made it to the weekend, just one more day.

I got to enjoy some wonderful time with my husband. Since his truck was broke down and he had to wait on repairs his home time was extended. Granted he didn’t make any money on those extra days but I got to spend more time with him. So it was worth it to me.

While he was outside working on the shop he is building I spent a little time working on my new quilt design, Flying Trapeze II.

The top is almost complete. All that is left is the outer border. It will be a three inch finished border. I am using the same solid navy blue that I used in the HST triangles. For the binding I am using the dark multi-colored batik that is paired with the navy blue.

Today I spent time looking at fabric (one of my favorite ways to spend time, especially on rainy days) on several of my fabric sites. I found the most adorable baby fabric. So now I have to sit down and design a baby quilt. Ideas are swimming in my mind…. I “sea” all types of possibilities! I just hope I don’t become adrift in my imaginations. Thankfully Monty dog is here to keep me anchored and not let me flounder or crash on the shore.

Yes, I found cute little boats and sea creatures. Way too adorable. So off to designing the perfect quilt I go.

On other news, I bought some fabric for a pattern that I received from Annie’s Catalog. I will be highlighting the quilt making process as I go along and there will be a giveaway. So be sure to sign-up for email notifications, that way you will always be notified when I have a new post.

I do hope we have seen the last of winter here in Montana and you all are now beginning to enjoy Spring.

Until next time – Anchors Away!

Shades of Winter designed, made and quilted by LaTawnia Porter

Good evening everyone! I am very excited to share with you my first listing on Etsy.com! I have listed the Shades of Winter quilt to be custom-made for different sizes and prices. So if you would like to purchase a custom-made Shades of Winter quilt then hop over to Etsy.com and look for LodgePoleQuilting.

There will be free shipping for every quilt no matter the size. You can choose different colors for your primary color if you don’t want it to be black and white. There is also a contact where you can email me if you have questions. When you place your order it will be 6 to 8 weeks to ship because I will of course have to make sure I have all of the fabric needed and time to make it beautiful.

I plan on listing more custom quilts as I design them. So be sure to check and see what is new at the Etsy store and on the Designing Quilts page here. I look forward to hearing from you soon with an order!
