Hello, hello! I’m so happy to see you here today! I hope your week is going great so far. We actually have some beautiful sunshine today after cloudy days. It is getting frosty in the mornings but as long as it’s sunny I can handle it. How is it in your area?
We have two winners of the Autumn Give Away! Let’s give them a big hand!
Colleen P. and Mindy T. are now the proud recipients of Annie’s Favorite Quilts From Precuts. They now have 28 new time-saving quilt projects to add to their collection. One fun fact about these two ladies – they are mother and daughter! The daughter has been quilting and sewing for many years and mom has just started her quilting journey. How exciting is that.
Many thanks to Annie’s Catalog for making this give away possible. Thank you every one for participating in the give away. Sign up for our email to stay in the know for the next give away!
The new LodgePole Quilting Shop is up and running. You can purchase the Shades of Winter Quilt in four different sizes: lap, twin, queen and king. The quilt is custom-made so it does take about 4-6 weeks from start to finish (including shipping time). If you want to order this quilt as a gift for Christmas you will want to order it by the end of October to ensure it arrives before Christmas.
You can also now purchase the Stars Americana Quilt pattern in either digital or paper. This is a great quilt, only 40″ x 40″, which makes it perfect for a table topper or a wall hanging.
This quilt pattern is rich in detailed instructions and colored images to guide any quilter, whether they are a novice quilter or an advanced quilter.
Check out the store often and look for more new items to appear.
Hello! Hello! Hello! I am so happy you could stop by and visit! I can’t believe it’s been so long since I last posted. There has been a lot happening in my little world here in Montana, but that is for another blog.
Starting tomorrow there is a great giveaway happening here! I will be giving away two (2) digital books (each retails at $9.99) and the Pink Lemonade Digital Pattern (electronic download retails at $7.99).
Pink Lemonade Quilt Pattern from Annie’s Catalog
There is a lot of great patterns in both of these books and the Pink Lemonade quilt is totally great!
A little about the two books:
Quilter’s World: Quilts You Can Make in a Day –
Create stunning quilts in no time at all with this special issue of Quilter’s World packed with 26 beautiful quick-and-easy projects, most of which can be made in a day!
Enjoy patterns for every skill level and taste, from coasters to bed quilts!
Craft charming chains and make a dazzling quilt using precuts.
Ideal for stash-busting, this issue is chock-full of projects to help clean out your scraps.
I made these cute hot pads from this book, using fabric from my stash. They were very easy to make.
There are some real great patterns and they are all pretty easy. I have several ear-marked for Christmas and birthday gifts, not to mention just for my own use.
The next book in the giveaway is Annie’s Favorite Quilts From Precuts.
Enjoy making the most of your precut stash! With the 28 projects inside this special issue, you’ll delight in the convenience of using precut fabric to create beautifully quilted projects in no time at all.
Relax while you stitch up creative treasures with your stashed precut packages, such as Train Tracks (using fat quarters) and Charming Stars (featuring charm packs).
Unique time-friendly patterns are organized into three chapters arranged according to the precuts used to make them (5″ squares known as charm packs, 2 1/2″ strips known as Jelly Rolls and, of course, fat quarters).
You’ll find designs for all areas of your home, from bed quilts to lap quilts, table runners to mug rugs, plus baby quilts and more!
From this book I made some very cute place mats and a hot pad for Summer. They were called Summer Sea Mats.
Just by changing the fabric used for these place mats you can make place mats for any season or occasion. How fun is that?
Now for that last item in the give away…..
The Pink Lemonade Quilt –
Fast and easy piecing makes this quilt pattern one of the quickest quilts for you to make! You can use the same fabrics throughout for a planned “look” or dig into your scraps for your own fun style! Easily adaptable for any age or room decor. Finished size is 52″ x 62″.
I made this quilt in vintage colors. I really like how it looks and it didn’t take me long at all to make.
Now since there are three items in this give away, there are some rules to follow to be a winner.
It’s as simple as that! Please remember, one winner per household. If you enter for more than one prize, you will be disqualified, so please don’t.
Annie’s Catalog has made this giveaway possible by providing these products to me for free. So give them a big thank you! All of the highlighted information regarding the three prizes come from Annie’s Catalog website.
Until next time – How to choose? They are all so GREAT!
Greetings all new visitors and friends! I am so excited to announce the winner of the Quilts You Can Make In A Day (electronic book) giveaway! (Thank you, Annie’s Catalog, for making this giveaway possible!)

Hey there everyone! Welcome to all of you new visitors! I am glad you are here today. There are some fun things I want to share with you. So read on and see what’s happening!
I got all of my orders for the reusable dry sweeper pads completed and sent away. After crocheting steadily for over a week my hands were quite numb and painful due to carpal tunnel syndrome. So I had to let them rest and do exercises. That meant no sewing, fabric cutting, blogging, crocheting or any other thing that would bring about more aggravation. Bummer. But they are feeling better now and I did get to do a little quilting these past couple of days.
My garden is abundant in lettuce, carrots, radishes, beets, spinach and more. I have eaten salads every day. I blanched spinach to freeze. I cut beet greens and cooked them with smoked turkey bacon and other yummy things. The beets aren’t ready to pick yet but I am ready to can them. I have my pressure cooker/canner and spices for pickling! My tomatoes and green beans are ready to bloom. Now if the weather will cooperate and give us some needed sun instead of clouds and rain, that would be helpful.

Zinnias, beets and carrots (not shown)
Tomatoes, cucumber in back and kale
chilies and peppers
Baby green onions between zinnias and beets
My dear husband is on his way home. He will be here early tomorrow morning, just in time to take me to the dentist to have oral surgery. At least this time I won’t be alone while dealing with the pain. He will be able to take care of Monty dog while I recover.
Speaking of my husband, he is so wonderful. He ordered me a new sewing table that will help with my back trouble. The table is adjustable so it should help me to be able to sew with minimal pain. He will also raise my cutting table while he is home. He is the best!
Now, I want to share with you a special project. This project will also include a GIVEAWAY!
Annie’s Catalog has given me a free copy of “Quilts You Can Make In A Day” to sample and share a project. So I chose Summer Seas Mats. This project is two place mats and hot mat made with fat quarters.
This is an ideal project to use some of your favorite fat quarters and have a set of really nice place mats with coordinating hot mat.
The designer used batiks for her fabric. I chose a couple of novelty fabrics with coordinating cotton solids.
Here are a couple of pictures:
I really like the sea shell novelty fabric I picked out for this project. I used a dark orange mottled fabric as well as three different blue/gray fabrics. Many thanks to my friend and neighbor Joyce. She helped me to coordinate those pesky blue/gray colors.
This was a super easy project. But all of the projects in this book are pretty easy. There may be a few intermediate ones, but since you are suppose be able to make any thing in this book in a day, they aren’t that complicated at all. I have a few more projects I have printed out to make from this book. When I get them made I will post pictures of them so you can see what I made.
One of the tools I used in the project is my binding tool I bought. It’s made by Fons and Porter. Let me tell you, my binding comes out right every time I use it! (This tool can be purchased at most fabric and craft stores.)
Now here is the fun part…..

Happy Mother’s Day! I hope everyone is having a wonderful day. My wonderful husband got home late Friday night and presented me with a beautiful lilac shrub yesterday for my Mother’s day gift. I can’t wait to get it planted, but we will have to put fencing around it so the deer won’t eat it. Lilacs are just one of my favorite flowers. I love the fragrance. So this one will be planted somewhat close to the house so the scent will waft through the windows.
Now onto the exciting news that everyone is waiting to hear….. drum roll please!
The Pink Lemonade Digital Quilt Pattern Giveaway winner is…..
She will be receiving the Pink Lemonade Digital Quilt Pattern via email. I am very excited for her and I am asking her to send me a picture of her quilt when she gets it completed. I am sure we all would love to see it when she gets it done. I know I will!
I also want to give many thanks to Annie’s Catalog for making this giveaway possible. They generously provided the digital pattern for me to make and showcase on this blog. They also provided the digital copy for me to offer in the giveaway.
Again, congratulations Amber S. for being the winner of this giveaway! And many thanks to all of you who participated in the giveaway.
Be sure to follow this blog. There will be another giveaway soon. Shall I give you a hint as to what it will be? Hmmmm….. I think I will keep it a suspense for now. But I will say it is going to be awesome!
