Designing Quilts

Today I am going to share with you one of the quilts I have designed and quilted. The fabric I used was purchased from JoAnn Fabrics and Crafts, Keepsake Calico collection. They have some real nice fabric in that collection.

This is the “Shades of Winter” quilt I designed and quilted for my husband. When I designed this quilt I thought it looked wonderful on paper. It wasn’t until I started to put my first block together I realized that it might not be as easy as 1-2-3. It took a few trips to the planning table and sewing machine, not to mention my seam ripper being heavily used, until I came up with a way to join those little pieces together that actually works.

All you will have to do is click on the link provided to get all of the directions you need to make this lovely quilt. I even included some photos to hopefully help guide you.

Please be sure to follow the directions carefully in regards to building the blocks. It can be a little tricky.
